FAQ and Information

This page contains frequently asked questions, or questions and information that someone might be prompted to ask or seek about our organization.

Is The Temple Reconstructionist or NeoPagan?

Temple Of The Greek Gods is primarily a Reconstructionist organization, but we do not bar NeoPagans from joining or participating. In fact, NeoPagans can adopt Reconstructionism as well into their own practice if they choose. We are also not against the admission of new rituals so long as they do not present a contradiction or an affront to Hellenic worldview. We do not require members or participants to believe a certain way, or to practice against their own conscience.

Do You Charge Membership Fees?

Our temple does not require any fees to be a member or to attend an event. We do accept donations, but such does not provide us with any kind of regular income. We are largely voluntary and driven by our spiritual passions. Clergy are allowed to charge fees for their private service, but our ByLaws require that those fees remain reasonable. Clergy are not allowed to charge excessively.

Do You Have To Be A Member To Attend An Event?

Absolutely not. Everyone is welcome who worships and respects the Greek Gods. Everyone is also welcome, on the same basis, to engage with our online community.

Do You Host Virtual Events?

Absolutely. In fact, a significant number of them are broadcast live from our indoor temple area to our Facebook page. We place a strong emphasis on virtual engagement because, while Hellenism is a growing religion, Hellenists are very widely spread out instead of being highly concentrated in general areas. Therefore, virtual events allow us to serve the Hellenic community in a great capacity.

Do You Offer Educational Classes?

Yes. In fact, we have an extensive and free basic Hellenic education class on our website under Hellenic Theology 101, taught by Priest Christopher. Anyone can access it, at any time, completely free of charge.

Does The Temple Have A Political Stance?

Temple Of The Greek Gods does not align itself, as an organization, with any political party, candidate, or platform. Our purpose here is to worship the Gods and live a Hellenic life. However, each individual is, of course, free to have their political beliefs, and vote however they choose, in their private lives.

Is The Temple LGBT Friendly?

Absolutely. We do not bar, nor treat anyone differently, because of their orientation or gender identity. We believe that everyone is a blessed creation of the Gods.

Are You A Charitable Organization?

At this time, we do not have any active charities. However, Hellenism encourages people to be of service to their communities and the people of those communities. We are also not against hosting fundraisers for charities or people who need help.
