A Word From The Head Priest
It is a very special time in America this week, Election Day, which officially takes place on November 3rd. Democracy is one of the most ancient Greek of ideals that our nation adopts from these ancient men. Voting was sometimes different in ancient Greece. For instance, in ancient Athenian court, the jury only had to return more guilty verdicts than innocent, or vice versa, to secure a conviction or release, whereas in our courts today, all jurors must agree on the same verdict. In any case, the ideal of the people determining the leadership and destiny of their government is as old as Greece herself, and is one of the things that make the United States a country of continued liberty and hope. All of us may not agree on how our voting systems work, but with enough people power, we can and do change our country's course. Voting is one of the most American and Hellenic of ideals.
In the Goodness of the Gods,
Chris Aldridge.

TEMPLE NEWS
We would like to thank everyone who participated in our online public events this year. We hope that 2021 will change the landscape a bit. Our last public event was The Rite of Haides, which took place on October 28th. The temple will have no more public events, other than the weekly Demos rites, until the spring of 2021.
The temple will be organizing roadside cleanup and environmentalism for the section of highway it was granted this year. In the spring of 2021, we encourage everyone who lives locally or within reasonable distance, to consider coming to help when these public events are announced. The section of road given to the temple is only about a mile long, and is not part of the major interstate, which means it won't be difficult to clean and maintain. A given cleanup day may last, at most, 2 hours, depending on how many participants we have.
