"To be angry is easy. But to be angry at the right person, at the right time, for the right reason, in the right place and in the right way, is not easy."

A Word From The Priest
It's been a wonderful pleasure seeing the temple and its people blossom, and now that the best months of the year in terms of weather are before us, I hope that our first year in this new community area will be pivotal for us, despite the recent public health issue and civil unrest that our country has been experiencing, but these are also opportunities for us to help our community, our fellow human being, and be a light of goodness and growth. Here in Illinois, I am pleased that Governor Pritzker has started to relax the social gathering restrictions. It means that Covid19 is starting to lessen its impact, and Illinois has also been the only State to meet all federal criteria for reopening phases. We have been a strong and productive people through all this, and our temple has been 100% cooperative in that effort. At present, people are permitted to have a gathering of 10 people or less, but seeing that we have no way of knowing how many people will attend our events, I don't want to be in a position of having to turn someone away. So we are going to continue our events completely through online feed for the time being. I would also like to add that all of our public events will always be broadcast live for our abroad members and friends, even if we do have physical gathering. Everyone will always be able to worship with us who wants to. In the meantime, stay productive and happy. Pray more, worry less.
In the Goodness of the Gods,
Priest Christopher.

TEMPLE NEWS
The June Festival of Poseidon will be taking place on the 20th at 1pm. We will also be holding the temple's annual Festival of Bellerophon (son of Poseidon) during this celebration. They will be intertwined. The next day, June 21st, we will be holding our summer solstice celebration of Apollon and Helios. If weather permits, it will be in our outside sanctuary. If not, we will meet inside the temple. If you plan on participating through our online feed, please check our Facebook page as June progresses for a list of all things you will need.
From this point onward, there will be a schedule change to the monthly newsletter. It will be produced on the 1st of every month instead of the last day of the previous.
June is Pride Month, and in honor of the time, our temple is showing its support for the LGBT community by public advocacy and flying of the rainbow banner on the temple flag yard.
